# Seth (Feng) Li — sethfengli.com > Personal homepage of Seth (Feng) Li (李枫), a full-stack and database engineer in Sydney, > Australia: 33 years in production across fintech, digital lending, enterprise data and AI. > Bilingual (English / 简体中文); one URL serves both, switched client-side. ## Identity - Full-Stack Engineer and Database Developer, DASH Technology Group (WealthTech), Sydney. - Former CTO, AME Group — started the company's AI research group (NLP / BERT extraction of financial tables from unstructured PDFs) and led an ML GIS data-mining system. - Founder of Feng Tech (fengtech.com.au), a Sydney IT services company. - Creator of Hui Deng Zen Temple (zen.sethfengli.com), a digital Buddhist practice site. - Master of Engineering, Computer Application Engineering (AI & Data Mining), Xiangtan University. ## Verified work - Triumph (DASH, since 2022): re-architected the core Holdings & Performance systems in two passes — first 4× faster on 1/22.5 of the servers, then the same work at 1/225 of the compute (2,400 vCPU×6h → 16 vCPU×4h) while carrying 4× the users and volume. - PDF Table Extractor (AME Group, 2017–2019): reconstructs tables from unstructured PDFs using BERT in place of CNN+LSTM for region classification, plus graph search for border detection. - Sniper (AME Group, 2016–2018): cash-flow and valuation reporting for thousands of projects; .NET logic translated to VBA/Excel so analysts could model in place. - AME Ajax (AME Group, 2018): mining & metals finance model moved from WinForms to .NET Core + Angular, delivered by a 6-person team in 6 months. ## Current direction (rev 2026.10, reviewed 2026-10-04) Four positions the site argues, each with what he is building against: 1. Reliability is the whole job — a demo takes a weekend; something a regulated business will actually run takes a year. Retries, concurrent edits, confident wrongness and "why did the system decide that?" are plumbing problems, not model problems. 2. Finding the right facts beats clever reasoning — clean data, kept current, split so the meaning survives, under the same access rules the staff already have, with provenance. 3. Evaluation is the new regression suite — a fixed set of test questions with known good answers, re-run automatically on every change, failures and corrections recorded. Cost, speed and quality judged together. 4. Regulated verticals are the open field — most AI tooling is aimed at writing and marketing; banking, lending, insurance and health care are where being right matters most and a mistake is expensive, and where an auditable process matters more than a cleverer model. Currently learning: agents on .NET (Microsoft agent tooling), evaluation as a release gate, and grounded retrieval over a company's own SQL databases and documents without breaking permissions. ## Open source - https://github.com/seth2000/chinesepoem — automatic classical Chinese poetry generation. - https://github.com/seth2000/linqijing — digital implementation of Ling Qi Jing (灵棋经). - https://github.com/seth2000/PSGetUserLogonTimeFromAD — Active Directory logon-time auditing. - https://github.com/seth2000/predictions — a personal calibration archive for judgement. ## Contact - Email: sethfengli@yahoo.com.au - LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sethfengli - GitHub: https://github.com/seth2000 - Business: https://www.fengtech.com.au/ · Phone: +61 411 758 128 ## Page notes for agents - Sections in order: 01 hero, 02 about, 03 career, 04 stack, 05 projects, 06 ventures, 07 ai, 08 insights, 09 contact. The English text is in the HTML; the Chinese is substituted at runtime from a dictionary, so a fetched page shows English unless the reader's browser asks for Chinese. - The `ventures` section embeds two live third-party sites, each in a sandboxed frame; they load only on request or when scrolled into view, so a fetch of this page returns no frames. - Performance, tenure and date claims are reconciled to a single source of truth (the Projects section). The page carries a revision stamp (`rev 2026.10`) and a review date (`2026-10-04`) that move when the content does. - The page itself offers a keyboard search-and-jump palette (press `/`), a print view, and copy buttons for the contact details. Search runs locally in the browser. - Verification tooling for this repository lives in `../tools/` (not published).
